Cavotec Middle East, part of the internationally operating Cavotec Group, is pleased to announce that they have been selected to supply ground support equipment for the world’s largest Emirates Engineering Hangar at Dubai International Airport. The ground support equipment will be supplied by Cavotec Fladung, a Cavotec manufacturing “Centre of Excellence” and world leader in the manufacture of advanced aircraft support systems.

The order, given to Cavotec Middle East by ETA on behalf of Emirates Engineering, consists of 100 technical pits for the provision of services to Emirates Airline aircraft like the Airbus A380-340/600-340/500-330/200 and Boeing 777/300. To maintain their innovative edge Cavotec Fladung ground support equipment has specifically been designed to handle all types of aircraft, including the 45 all-new A380 aircraft ordered by Emirates Airlines.

The technical pits, as shown on the photographs below, will supply 400Hz (4x90 KVA) electrical power and pre-conditioned air. They will further be installed with electrical service pits containing 4x16A – 1x32A – 1x63A and 1x200A telephone/data/ earthing cables fitted on a cable reel and water and compressed air outlets for tank ventilation purposes.

The total of seven service hangars and one painting hangar are scheduled to become operational in early 2006.
