First MoorMaster Order in Scandinavia

First MoorMaster Order in Scandinavia

Cavotec MSL Holdings Limited (CCC) is pleased to announce that it has secured an order for the supply of four MoorMaster® 400 automated mooring units from Denmark-based Nordic Ferry Services A/S, a recent joint-venture between Bornholmstrafikken A/S and Clipper Group. The MoorMaster® units will be installed in the ferry terminals at Hov and Sælvig, servicing a newly built ferry on a high frequency passenger route to and from the island of Samsø. Delivery and installation of the units is scheduled for September of this year.

“This installation will represent the first deployment of MoorMaster® in Scandinavia and will provide a valuable reference site for Cavotec in Europe,” commented Cavotec MSL’s CEO, Ottonel Popesco. “We are very excited to be working with Nordic Ferry Services and look forward to delivering them a first class automated mooring solution.”

Cavotec MSL is a globally operating engineering group active in the maritime, airports, mining and general industry sectors. Around the world, MoorMaster® automated mooring systems have already been adopted by APMT (Port of Salalah) in Oman, Searoad Shipping Australia, Toll in New Zealand and the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada.

Cavotec MSL is currently completing the follow-on order received from the St. Lawrence Seaways Management Corporation in Canada during the third quarter of 2007. The order is currently on schedule, with delivery and installation to take place April of this year.
