Cavotec strengthens US presence with ThyssenKrupp, Robbins orders

The Cavotec engineering group has illustrated its rapidly growing presence on the critical US market with two important orders from leading industrial groups — ThyssenKrupp and The Robbins Company — for advanced cable and hose reels for applications in Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

"These orders demonstrate Cavotec's growing presence in the United States, and the trust Cavotec has with customers such as ThyssenKrupp and Robbins," says Cavotec USA Product Manager, Diego Sanchez.

For ThyssenKrupp, Cavotec will manufacture explosion proof (Zone 21) Atex cable and hose reels, medium voltage cables, one Brevetti stainless steel circular power cable chain and related materiel. The equipment will be used to power indoor stacker and reclaimer machines that will handle coke and sulfur at an application in Saudi Arabia.

ThyssenKrupp's end customer is construction and engineering group Techint. The order is part of a new-build refinery project at Yanbu industrial City located on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast.

Cavotec USA is also supplying leading tunnelling group The Robbins Company with hose reels for a project in Singapore. These reels will be made in the US, reinforcing Cavotec's manufacturing presence on the US market.

Cavotec's cable reels, cable chains and power cables ensure safe, clean and efficient operations at maritime, airports, mining and tunnelling and general industry applications all over the world.
