Cavotec MSL (CCC) acquires Meyerinck

Cavotec MSL (CCC) acquires Meyerinck

Cavotec MSL Holdings Ltd. (CCC) is pleased to announce today that it has acquired the Meyerinck Group, based in Fernwald, Germany, a leading international manufacturer of refuelling and industrial loading systems. The transaction is effective as of November 1st, 2008.

For over 40 years, Meyerinck has designed and manufactured advanced refuelling and loading systems that efficiently transport aircraft fuel, chemical and petrochemical liquids. To its global airbase and airport customers, Meyerinck supplies specialized refuelling loading arms for commercial and military aircraft, fighter jets, helicopters and tank trucks. These low maintenance and labour efficient direct refuelling systems are the standard at nearly 150 airbases and tank farms around the world, including Ramstein AFB (Germany), Edwards AFB (USA), Misawa Airbase (Japan), Chung Joo Airbase (South Korea), Murcia - San Javier Airport (Spain), Schiphol Airport (Netherlands) and Munich Airport (Germany).

In the chemical and petro-chemical industries, Meyerinck provides systems that support customers like Bayer, Linde and BP with the loading and unloading of a wide range of liquid media. Whether to or from a rail car, a ship or barge, or within a facility itself, Meyerinck’s stainless steel-based technologies reliably work with most chemicals, including bio-diesels, ethanol, liquid petroleum gases, acids, and many other compounds.

“With the addition of Meyerinck’s technologies to our existing systems, we can now offer a comprehensive services package to our commercial and military airbase customers worldwide,” said Ottonel Popesco, Cavotec MSL’s CEO. “We are confident that the combination of Meyerinck’s well-developed product range and our global sales network will further reduce Cavotec’s exposure to the current economic climate.”

Over the past 3 years, Meyerinck has generated sales between EUR 5.0 to 7.0 million, and its future business potential is in-line with Cavotec MSL’s own expectations. Consistent with its acquisition philosophy, Cavotec MSL expects to further develop the Meyrinck business by supporting the current management team and employees. Beginning November 1st 2008, Meyerinck will operate under the name of Cavotec Meyerinck GmbH.

“We are very pleased to join Cavotec MSL, and look forward to working within its international network,” says Wolfgang von Meyerinck, Meyerinck’s MD. “Cavotec’s global scope, combined with Meyerinck’s niche expertise, will lead to the mutual expansion of our core activities.
